MARYLYNNE BOISVERT
Your name and what is your medium and website?

My name is MaryLynne Boisvert, and my business name is BH Upcycled Designs. I work in fiber, specifically using upcycled clothing to create new wearable art pieces. Website is www.bhupdesigns.com

Is your studio at home or outside, and if at home, is it a dedicated room or are you having to share it with other family members?

My studio is at home. It has double duty as our family office. Right now my husband is working from home, and sometimes he comes in to use the printer or work on family stuff on the computer. He has also begun helping me with making masks!

Are you finding it difficult to work now? Or has this become a time of great creativity?

Right now I'm not doing creative work. The need for masks is so great, I'm just working to sew them as hard and fast as I can.

What is it you are working on now? Does it relate in any way to current events, or are you letting this be a time of releasing all that while the ideas flow?

Masks! And also what the next iteration of my life will be.

Do you think this experience will permanently alter the way you create, or do you think you will go back to your way of creating art before, and if it will change you, in what way and why?

This crisis has definitely changed me. I know that what I make is a luxury item, not necessary, though lovely (and there is always a need for lovely things). I am just about done with asking people to support me in doing that. I will sell the inventory that I have, then stop doing this full time, and move into something more service-oriented.
