Rachel Madej
Your name and what is your medium and website?

My name is Rachel Madej. I work in marker and my website is www.rachelantoniadesigns.com

Is your studio at home or outside, and if at home, is it a dedicated room or are you having to share it with other family members?

My studio is a corner shelving unit and desk in the middle of a 500 square apartment that I share with my partner and adorably mischievous cat.

Are you finding it difficult to work now? Or has this become a time of great creativity?

I have gained 2+ hours a day without having to commute or pack coffee and lunch, so I'm utilizing this time to take classes, challenge my skills and create more mock-ups of work that I'd like to get hired to design in the future.

What is it you are working on now? Does it relate in any way to current events, or are you letting this be a time of releasing all that while the ideas flow?

Professionally I'm designing mockups for wine bottles and coffee logos, drawing custom portraits for my friends and family that I hope to list in the future, and I just launched a new collection in March that I'm promoting online.

Personally I just finished repainting a pot and I'm dabbling in some yarn art

Do you think this experience will permanently alter the way you create, or do you think you will go back to your way of creating art before, and if it will change you, in what way and why?

I think what I've really gained is time which has given me the freedom to balance the creative and administrative sides of business while working full time at my day job. I'm worried going back to work will send me back into a lot of unbalance but this time has gotten me motivated to find a way for me to work from home permanently.

While I am afraid for my health and the people around me, I have learned through this that I truly love being home and having my own schedule.
